Hello Everyone!
Welcome to my first blog entry. I say "MY" because John Paul doesn't know I'm doing this yet - but I think it will be a great way to keep in touch with everyone and keep you in the loop on our Australian adventures. We actually bought a video camera yesterday, so if we get really snazzy, maybe I can figure out a way to upload some videos of a kangaroo or something.
Anyhow...
John Paul is officially en route to Melbourne for his very first trip 'down under'! His flight left Charlotte around 9:30 this morning (Sunday) and he has a 7 hour layover in San Francisco. Ugh! As if the flight wasn't long enough already! From San Fran, he'll fly directly into Melbourne (about another 14hrs. in the air) - but with the time change, won't get there until 10:00am on TUESDAY! The time zone change still throws me for a loop. It sounds like he's getting the royal treatment when he gets there - getting picked up in a limo and spending the day at the Melbourne Cup - the Australian equivalent to the Kentucky Derby. That will be one way to get to know his new co-workers!
As for me...I miss John Paul already but thankfully have a busy week at work and friends coming into town next weekend. Only 11 more days until I'm on a plane, too!
