Yes, that's right....it is 80 degrees here - in January. I suppose I should start speaking the language and say that its 27 degrees Celsius. (For the record, I am not catching on to this metric conversion business and find it impossible to do with out a scientific calculator. The only unit of measure that I'm truly committed to learning is turning pounds into kilograms because it makes me feel skinnier almost instantly.)
Ok, enough with the rambling...we are officially in Melbourne. We arrived Tuesday morning after the LAX debacle and checked back into our trusty serviced apartment that we stayed in during our initial visit (along with all of our luggage, thank goodness). After we got settled we picked up the keys to our new condo and made our first visit as the official tenants! Since the rest of our possessions (i.e. furniture, clothes, plates, glasses, etc.) wont arrive for another month, there wasn't a whole lot we could do there - but I am still so excited for where we are living. As I was looking out our window onto the beach (yes, that was obnoxious), I noticed that there were a ton of people out and about for a Tuesday....but then I realized that it's actually summer break for kids in school. Its so wierd to think about, but it kind of makes more sense with the Christmas/New Years holiday.
Well that's about for now. Hope everyone is bundled up back in the Northern Hemisphere.....I think I might need to go work on my tan! HOLLER!
