She'll be missed

I don't post many serious blog entries; but considering I've made a few references to my trip back to the States - I might as well mention why. On Wednesday, March 25th my Granny passed away; so I flew back to spend some time with my family. I was so thankful to be able to get home as quickly as I did (all things considered) to be with the people I love the most. Although I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to live in Australia for a few years - Granny's passing made me look at the experience from a different perspective. When you read the fine print - you have to be willing to make some sacrifices as well. I realize that I totally took for granted that I had most of my family at my fingertips. A few hours in the car and I was to my mom, sister, brother, dad, aunts, uncles, cousins, and my Granny and Popa.
I've posted some of my favorite pictures of my Granny. The picture above is of Granny and I; struttin' our stuff on the beach. I think she had the very first Juicy Couture jump suit. Oh Snap! The picture below is classic and reminds me of something that would be on a MikWright greeting card. All it needs is a caption that says, "For pete's sake,Merle! At least wait until you get into the water!" This is my Granny & Popa - circa 1983 - livin the good life.
